The Hospital Sikh Temple Makindu, is a state-of-the-art community hospital located along the busy Nairobi-Mombasa Highway in Makindu, Kenya.
The community established hospital, serves locals who have no immediate professional health care for hundreds of miles around.
Patients often travel long distances on foot, bicycle or if they’re really lucky by motorcycle taxi to get to the hospital.
Emergencies such as road traffic accidents, caesareans and serious illnesses resulting from fractures, malaria, pneumonia and Aids related complications are common place.
The Sikh Golf Society aims to raise £14,000 and provide a modern fully equipped ambulance to the hospital. To enable it to provide critical medical attention and run outreach clinics in more remote locations and ease the suffering of the local community.
